Next week, if you can, try and get out of Vancouver to catch the Uno Festival in Victoria on May 28th and 29th! Our amazingly talented Contemporary Elementary instructor, Alisoun Payne, will be premiering a new work during the festival entitled “I Be Caribou:”
I Be Caribou, a new work by Constance Cooke with Dancer Alisoun Payne, premieres at the Uno Festival, May 28 & 29 in Victoria BC. This timely piece explores the dynamic interplay of three independent themes: isolation, instinct, and transformation. A solitary figure, chalk white and glistening lies naked on a white space in the midst of the darkness. Thus begins I Be Caribou. Legacy seeing herself again and again in the hunter and the hunted.
Projections by Pamela June Millar, Music by Shirley Grierson, Lighting Design by Rebekah Johnson and Choreography by Constance Cooke.
I Be Caribou premieres in the Uno Festival Monday May 28 and Tuesday 29th 8PM.
Tickets at the door, come early there is limited seating.
Made possible with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts and the BC Arts Council.
